Caution - data processed in the United States

This robot sends data to cloud servers in the United States. For EU residents, this means personal data is transferred outside the EU. While some companies use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other legal mechanisms to comply with GDPR for transatlantic transfers, the data is not under direct EU jurisdiction. EU residents should review the manufacturer's Data Processing Agreement and privacy policy carefully.

How to keep it private

Needs internet
Offline

Bluetooth proximity unlock works without internet. Auto-lock timer works locally on the device. However, remote access, activity logs, geofencing auto-unlock, and guest management all require the August cloud service.

Available privacy controls

Bluetooth-only mode

Disconnect from Wi-Fi to limit the lock to Bluetooth proximity unlock only, preventing cloud data transmission

Guest access revocation

Instantly revoke guest access and delete their activity history from your lock

Activity log management

View and manage the complete log of who locked/unlocked your door and when

Privacy tip

The lock collects detailed access logs showing who enters and when. For maximum privacy, use Bluetooth-only mode by not connecting to Wi-Fi, though you lose remote access and geofencing. Regularly review guest access permissions and revoke unused ones. Data is stored on US servers with no EU-specific processing option, making it less ideal for privacy-conscious EU users.
